At just 30 years old, Latoya was diagnosed with stage four rectal colon cancer shortly after losing her mother and becoming a guardian to her younger siblings. As she navigated an overwhelming season of treatment and uncertainty, she also faced something she never expected: having to think about her future fertility without receiving the guidance or support she needed to preserve her options.
Today, Latoya is navigating early menopause and a challenging fertility journey while continuing to hold onto hope. She opens up about the emotional realities of everything she has experienced, the importance of advocating for yourself, and learning to care for your health while still making space for the life you want.
Through it all, Latoya has continued to build a life rooted in purpose and passion. She shares how dance movement therapy became an important part of her journey and how she is now pursuing that passion through her business, H.Y.P.E. Wellness.
This is a conversation about resilience, fertility, grief, health, hope, and finding your way when life doesn’t follow the timeline you imagined.
Latoya’s message is one Beth hopes everyone hears: advocate for yourself, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to speak up for the care you deserve.
